Boston-Power, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Quality Engineer to provide leadership and expertise in the Quality Department of Boston-Power's new plant in Chongqing.  Reporting to the Sr. Quality Manager, the successful candidate will,
under minimal supervision, provide quality engineering support to assigned projects, programs, or areas to ensure that all Boston-Power products are built in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements.  This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced and dynamic high tech company. You will have broad responsibility to lead production staff to execute and improve manufacturing processes and enforce company policies and processes in the manufacturing of rechargeable batteries. 

Roles and Responsibilities

• Participate as a cross-functional team member ensuring a proper quality representation, using the tools of Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, and Continuous Improvement, to name a few. 
• Apply knowledge of Quality Systems Regulations in carrying out responsibilities, which includes the responsibility of review and approval of processes. 
• Develop and maintain risk management files including the generation of Failure Mode Effects Analysis, determination of risk hazards, and construction of risk reports. 
• Develop, implement, and maintain cost-effective Quality System procedures consistent with the Boston-Power Quality Plan. 
• Lead quality improvement projects that drive continuous improvement through utilization of tools such as DOE, Six Sigma, DMAIC, FMEA, SPC, and 8D Root Cause Analysis.
• Develop, maintain and analyze Key Performance Indicators to identify recurring trends and drive improvement actions.
• Lead investigations to determine root causes of product defects including field and internal failures. 
• Apply appropriate control plans to achieve problem containment, and then drive corrective and preventative actions to address the determined problems and audit as required to verify effectiveness of actions.
• Ensure new product introduction is in compliance with the corporate Quality Plan. 
• Coordinate the disposition of discrepant material using the Material Review Board (MRB) system.
• Implement and maintain systems to report and improve quality. Maintain a complete awareness of the cost of quality and promote activities to monitor and reduce quality costs. 
• Mentor more junior Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians in the application and use of quality tools. 
• Perform other duties as required by Management. 


Qualifications 

• Minimum BS degree in related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment. 
• Experience with Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, and Continuous Improvement.
• Good command of the English language. 
• Experience interacting with regulatory authorities. 
• Experience in quality systems. 
• Experience in quality system audits. 
• Experience with statistical sampling plans and trending analyses. 
• Professional certifications in the Quality field preferred. 
• Six Sigma Black belt preferred.
